FASHION & BEAUTY CONTENT EDITORS

The editors will work with the founder/team members to brainstorm and identify stories/themes and thought leaders to feature. Coordinate the creation and sharing of content across our digital magazine and social media channels.

Key responsibilities include:-
• Assisting with formulating a workable content roadmap and organise the editorial calendar
• Planning, commissioning and sub-editing digital magazine content.
• Initiating contact with relevant industry bodies/companies/creatives/PR’s to secure interviews and obtain press releases for team writers to turn into unique articles.
• Ensure content follows the style guide, and the article is SEO optimised for the selected keyword.
• Proofread and edit spelling, grammar and syntax across all content.
• Managing a maximum of two content team contributors each.
• Assist with tracking web analytics to ascertain content engagement levels.

You:-
• 1-2 years experience in quality content writing, editing
• Excellent command of the English language.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• An appreciation for and recognition of quality content and well-targeted to our audience.
• A passion for sharing positive stories on African/black creative culture & fashion
• Ability to multitask

SOCIAL MEDIA ASSISTANT

Do you have the ability to encapsulate our articles, marketing and PR strategies into posts/tweets etc? Would suit candidates who want to gain more experience working in branding and marketing.
Key responsibilities include:-
• Help us expand our online presence and be a part of our re-launch and future marketing campaigns to assist with growing our social media audience.
• To assist with developing a social media strategy across multiple channels in order to drive awareness and engagement about the magazine and its mission.
• Creating content (creative pics, blog posts, gifs, infographics)
• Posting about our editorial schedule, re-posting/sharing relevant 3rd party content with a focus on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook.
• Execute Schedules for posts’ content across social media channels.
• Proactively engage with our community (likes, comments, DMs…) to grow engagement and foster conversations
• Manage inbound enquiries and refer to a team member
• Research, Identify, engage and activate Influencers (partnerships, competitions, affiliation..)
• Track, analyse and report on the performance of our social media marketing efforts

You:-
• You’ll be the voice of an innovative and inspiring magazine brand
• Will need to have excellent English language skills and basic skills in, Photoshop, Canva, etc and social media scheduling applications e.g. Planoly.
Photography and video creation skills would be a bonus.
• Knowledge of African and black British culture – especially beauty and music/entertainment
• Enjoy research and finding great leads for content

Hours Part-time:– Commitment of 6-8 hours a week for a minimum of 8 weeks (min 1-month trial) to start (and can be extended as we grow)
