Latest Africa Fashion Week News Round-Up

With a flurry of actively around the final preparations, a lot of news is being generated around AFWL 2015. We have scanned our inbox for the three best stories – and here they are!

First up, there are the music artists who will be performing at London’s Olympia this weekend. For those with a love of Afro Beats, Atumpan will be on stage Saturday night, but the rest of the line up over two days is also very strong. Find out more here.

The whole event is made possible by sponsors and none have worked harder to support AFWL 2015 than the KZN Fashion Council from South Africa. The mandate of the council is to support and uplift the design and fashion sector of KwaZulu-Natal to ensure that the number of designers that receive support from the Council grows each year. To this end, they have enabled many designers to show their wares this year.

Last, but by no means least, there is a ‘Show within a show’. Rip The Runway UK is a biennial fashion and music spectacle that merges both fashion and music. This unique concept distinguishes it from the average fashion show, ensuring that the audience will be captivated and entertained.
