Notice Any Changes Round Here

If you’ve visited our site before welcome back, and if you’re new thanks for stopping by.

We’ve had a BIG makeover, redesigned to make content ‘pop’, easier to navigate and immerse yourself in, along with new features! These updates (the site design) are just one part of the larger changes we’ve been working towards throughout 2020 and this year, both internally and externally—a transformation that extends beyond the surface level of what Africa Fashion simply looks like, and actually reimagines what it is. These are just a few of many more changes to come.

As for the digital magazine:
We want it to be clear that we’re a brand that will: cover stories on people who shape fashion & creative talent. Our way to help drive positive change for underrepresented black talent across journalism & media, whilst improving the visibility of emerging and established black creatives & businesses.

Now, for a little tour of  the refreshed site ~

Our ‘Threads Around The Webshopping section, which includes a showcase of products to help you shop from independent businesses that you may not know about, linking directly to their online store. It will also simplify finding ‘That item’ you didn’t realise you needed, but you come here looking for inspiration (like, you know, a bold top with green stitching you can wear to dress UP or down in!)

This contributor page makes it easier for organisations/PR’s and individuals to submit their story, but if you want to come on board as a member of the team you’ll need to visit here to join us, or give us the heads up for your pitch idea!

Community is the connector for creatives, so our new dedicated community section is intended for stories that connect people, be it a local community somewhere in the UK or across the African diaspora. A space for individuals and organisations that are shaping communities with their creative talents in favour of positive change, innovation, and creation that contributes to the wellbeing of people & communities.

Our new directory, featuring business and creative talent is still a work in progress but if you want your profile featured, then please sign up to get notified as soon as it goes live! Plus we have an events directory coming soon!

• Afrobeat & Afrohouse mixes are often playing whilst creating content for this site, so it’s only natural that we’d want to feature mixes from DJ’s that break new tracks and transport you back in time with those older tunes. Genres we currently feature include Afrobeat and Afrohouse. So if you’re a DJ looking for another outlet to share your mixes get in touch!

We’ve also added some basic features to make reading more pleasurable (see our flyout site navigation on the left) and you can go ahead and lower your sunglasses and enjoy those big-ass product/editorial images.
